Bus Tour - Mesa Verde, Colorado

This afternoon the tour was led by National Park Service rangers who are historical experts on the culture, architecture and lifestyles of the Ancestral Puebloan people. On the Classic Pueblo tour we explored Mesa Verde. We learned how the native people thrived here for seven centuries – evolving from hunter-gatherers into a culture known for agriculture, intricate artistry, architecture, and their possible mysterious departure.  We visited the archaeological sites of Triple Cities, Square Tower overlook, Sun Point, Sun Temple, and Cliff Palace.

We also did some walking tours which was not included on the bus tour.  Most Pueblo's were in hard to reach places which required walking some steep paths.
